LONG PAD HOME - the story of the Youth Enterprise Trust

After four years of writing, Lloyd finally published the story of how YET began. The "Long Pad Home" is now available in good quality hardback and the 200 odd pages of text includes a good smattering of photographs in case anyone gets tired of reading Lloyd's waffle. Stories of the young people, the local characters and the bush itself are pulled together with some philosophical thoughts from our 2001 Queenslander of the Year.

A week in the wilderness with a bunch of edgy adolescents is not an experience that most blokes would continually back up for. But Lloyd Hancock, based on his cattle property, Saddlers Springs, in Queensland's Central Highlands, has been doing just that for the last nine years. As founder of the Youth Enterprise Trust which assists disadvantaged young people, he has written of how the Trust was formed, some highlights from his experience with these young people and some thoughts on the Bush and the work of YET.

Awarded Queenslander of the Year for his commitment to young people, Lloyd tells his story with honesty, humour and humility.
